When further assessment may be needed ...

The information provided below is if you suspect your child is having difficulty or functioning at a level different from that of his/her peers. Sometimes because of illness, injury, disability, or developmental delay, a child may struggle to learn, develop, and participate fully in these day-to-day activities:

Communicating

Speaking

Playing with Others

Self-care: eating, dressing, toileting

Attending Preschool

Fine and gross motor activities (use of small and large muscles)

Processing information through the senses (sensory processing)

Social Abilities

Regulating Emotions

If you find that your child may be experiencing difficulty with any of the above that significantly hinders his/her abilities, then you should have your child assessed. To find out if your child is eligible for Early Childhood Services - Program Unit Funding (PUF) - Edmonton & Area.
