PUF Programming at Daycare
Remote Early Child Services Programming (RECS)
We provide services in your child’s daycare.
We believe learning is promoted through share experiences and activities. Teachers are planners, initiators, and models in the social environment that surrounds your child. Seden Centre encourages choosing a program that best fits your child's needs.
Seden Centre's RECS PROGRAM is for children funded by Alberta Education - Program Unit Funding (PUF) that are unable to attend the on-site preschool. We offer certified teachers, speech language pathologists, occupational therapists and educational assistants to work with your child in a community daycare setting of your choice.
These commonly include:
Speech and Language, Motor Development, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Diagnosed Disorder/Syndrome and Severe Developmental Delay.
There is criteria that ABED follows for eligibility for PUF funding. Assessment must with at least one severe assessment score and/or two moderate scores with a statement defining how your child's delay affects his/her ability to function in a classroom setting to qualify for PUF.
We understand that having your child assessed can be difficult to navigate. We welcome questions and will help you understand how this system of funding operates and how your child can benefit to do his/her best learning at daycare.
IF you have concern that your child may be developmentally delayed check Further Assessment and/or call your pediatrician. An assessment is needed to qualify for RECS (see Further Assessment). See PUF for more information on funding offered by Alberta Education.
