Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Seden Centre for Child Development and Wellness is seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our interdisciplinary team on a full-time basis.
This position is an excellent opportunity for an SLP who enjoys working with young children and families and wants to make a meaningful difference during the early years of a child’s development.
Compensation: $48.50–$68.50 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.

Seden Centre for Child Development and Wellness provides early childhood education and developmental services to children and families in Sherwood Park, Edmonton, and surrounding communities.
Our team takes an interdisciplinary approach to supporting children’s development. We work collaboratively with children, families, educators, and other professionals to provide individualized support and help children reach their communication and developmental goals.
About the Position
The successful candidate will primarily work with preschool-aged children in inclusive early learning and community settings.
The position involves providing speech and language assessment and intervention, developing individualized treatment strategies, collaborating with families and educators, and supporting children’s communication development.
Services may be provided at Seden Centre in Sherwood Park as well as in Edmonton and surrounding communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide speech and language assessments for preschool-aged children.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and intervention strategies.
- Provide individualized and small-group speech and language intervention.
- Support children with a variety of speech, language, communication, and developmental needs.
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, educators, and other professionals.
- Provide practical strategies and recommendations that can be incorporated into children’s everyday environments.
- Support educators in developing language-rich and communication-supportive learning environments.
- Monitor children’s progress and adjust intervention strategies as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Communicate assessment results, treatment recommendations, and progress with families and members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Participate as an active member of an interdisciplinary early childhood team.
- Provide services in preschool and community settings throughout Edmonton, Sherwood Park, and surrounding areas.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
- A Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Eligibility for registration and practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Alberta.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- A genuine interest in working with preschool-aged children and their families.
- Strong organizational and clinical documentation skills.
- Experience working with young children is an asset.
Transportation Requirements
Because this position involves providing services throughout Edmonton, Sherwood Park, and surrounding communities, the successful candidate must have:
- A reliable vehicle.
- A valid driver’s licence.
- Valid vehicle insurance.
Compensation
$48.50–$68.50 per hour
