About Seden Centre
Seden Centre is a private Early Childhood Services (ECS) program located on the west side of Sherwood Park, serving children and families from Sherwood Park and the Edmonton area.
We are seeking a passionate, creative, and collaborative Certified Teacher to join our interdisciplinary team. At Seden Centre, teachers have the unique opportunity to work alongside Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and Special Educators, creating a collaborative environment where professionals learn from one another and work together to support each child's development.
About the Position
The successful candidate will provide engaging, developmentally appropriate programming for young children, typically between 2.5 and 6 years of age, with a range of developmental abilities and needs.
This position requires a teacher who can confidently implement differentiated programming and adapt their approach to meet the individual learning styles, strengths, and needs of each child.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in an environment where emergent curriculum, creativity, flexibility, and collaboration are essential. You will be expected to think on your feet, adapt programming in the moment, and create meaningful learning experiences that encourage children to participate, explore, and grow.
This is a highly collaborative role that provides support to both therapeutic disciplines while maintaining a strong focus on early learning and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate educational programming for young children.
- Develop and adapt programming to accommodate a wide range of developmental abilities and learning styles.
- Implement differentiated instruction and individualized strategies to support children's participation and success.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment.
- Respond flexibly to children's needs and adapt programming within an emergent curriculum model.
- Collaborate closely with Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Special Educators, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Incorporate therapeutic recommendations and strategies into daily classroom programming.
- Support children with developmental delays, communication challenges, behavioural needs, and other complex learning needs.
- Build positive relationships with children and families.
- Monitor and document children's progress and contribute to individualized programming and planning.
- Participate in team meetings, professional discussions, and collaborative problem-solving.
- Maintain accurate documentation and attend to the many details associated with a high-quality early learning program.
- Contribute positively to a respectful, supportive, and energetic team environment.

Qualifications & Requirements
Required:
- Alberta Teacher Certification
- Bachelor's degree
- Valid driver's licence
- Reliable vehicle
- Ability to work in person
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred:
- At least 1 year of teaching experience
- Experience working with preschool-aged children
- Experience working with children with developmental delays, communication difficulties, or behavioural needs
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary or interdisciplinary environment
