Program
Unit Funding (PUF) is provided through the Alberta Education (Early
Childhood Services) to help children that are developmentally delayed
get the intervention they need to close the gap between them and their
peers in an inclusive environment. This funding is contingent on
assessment results that qualify a child for funding. Seden Centre
is a service provider that offers parents a choice of on and off site
programming. Our onsite programming for preschool and junior
kindergarten aged children in and around the capital region (Edmonton,
Sherwood Park, Fort Saskatchewan, & Ardrossan) for ages 2.8 to 6
years old (before September 1st).
We are dedicated to
providing the best therapies possible with family orientated
visits. Our team is committed to collaborating with staff to
support inclusion at its finest. Educational Coaches and family
supports, advocacy, and resources ensuring that your child will receive
the best possible education.
Seden Centre treats all
students as individuals and differentiates programming to reflect the
unique abilities for each. Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) and
Occupational Therapists (OTs) work as onsite staff and offer home visits
for families that would like specialized services to aid in their
child's learning.
To determine whether your child is
eligible for PUF Early Childhood Service assessment(s) are needed - see
section Further Assessment.
The severity of developmental
delay will affect the approval for funding. Assessment is
necessary to determine a child's eligibility for Early Childhood
Services.
